Catholic Guilt Zine
Personal Project
Sustento is a typeface born from tension—between sacred tradition and modern expression, round and angular, seen and unseen.
Designed for Catholic Guilt, a zine exploring the Southern Queer Experience through the lens of religion and sexuality, Sustento does double duty as both a dependable textface and a characterful display. Quietly subversive and full of subtle quirks, it reads clean at small sizes but rewards a closer look—much like queerness in the Bible Belt. Both font and zine are explorative personal projects stemming from my first 22 years spent living as a Queer person in Alabama and Florida.
